Level the workload
Every shift starts with a forecast: what sells, when orders land, and what the average basket looks like. Gurkerl uses that forecast to build shift patterns for the fulfillment center and the last mile at the same time, not as two separate plans stitched together afterward. Inbound is timed to restock exactly what’s needed, and fulfillment center capacity stays in sync with last-mile capacity end to end.
The result: slot availability is up 90%, and delays sit under 5%.
Staff by skill and performance
Gurkerl fills shifts from its worker pool using a skill matrix and individual performance data, planned down to the activity level. That protects throughput while maximizing efficiency, and it’s also what makes robotics investments pay off at scale: automation only helps if the people working alongside it are placed where they’re actually effective.
Steer autonomous material flow
Inside the fulfillment center, an operating system decides where every item gets stored and which path it takes to get picked: AutoStore, robotic picking with Sereact, or automated expedition. Paired with the labor plan, this becomes the throughput-and-efficiency engine that lets automation scale past a single grid or a single shift.
Route on real-time inputs
A router is only as good as its inputs. Veloq auto-calculates loading and preloading times, but the real difference-maker is map speed, calculated at the level of individual map segments, updated continuously, and enriched by a feedback loop from couriers actually driving the routes.
Plan and manage last-mile capacity
Courier requirements are calculated at 15-minute granularity across a D-50-to-D-0 window, weighed against the actual courier pool, to minimize both shortfall and over-delivery risk. As execution happens in real time, the system recalculates available capacity and opens new delivery slots accordingly.
